The centre of the obverse bears the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Lithuania. The top of the coin has the inscription LIETUVA (Lithuania) arranged in a semi-circle, the bottom displays the inscription 50 LITŲ (50 litas) and the year 2003 is displayed on the left.
The top of the reverse of the coin bears the inscription ATĖNAI (Athens) arranged in a semi-circle, the centre of the coin shows a stylised image of women cyclists. The bottom of the reverse bears the year 2004. The left side of the coin contains the logo of the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee.
On the edge of the coin: XXVIII OLIMPIADOS ZAIDYNES (XXVIII OLYMPIC GAMES).
